Evora Diagnostics was founded to address one of healthcare’s most persistent challenges: delayed, inaccessible, and inadequate diagnostic testing.

Because Behind Every Test Is a Patient, a Family, and a Story
Evora Diagnostics was founded with a simple belief: no patient should have to wait months—or years—for answers.
For co-founder and patient advocate Olivia Goodreau, that mission is deeply personal. After becoming seriously ill following a tick bite, Olivia spent 18 months and visited 51 doctors before receiving a Lyme disease diagnosis. Additional diagnoses followed years later after a lengthy search for answers.
Those experiences revealed a challenge extending far beyond Lyme disease: millions of patients continue to face delayed diagnoses, limited access to testing, and prolonged uncertainty.
Today, Evora is working to develop technologies that help patients receive answers sooner and healthcare providers make informed decisions faster.

Born from Breakthrough Research
Evora Diagnostics was born from groundbreaking research and innovation at UCLA through interdisciplinary collaborations among the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department, the Bioengineering Department, and the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI).
Built on years of research, clinical validation, and scientific innovation, Evora is translating advances in artificial intelligence and biomedical engineering into a new generation of rapid diagnostic technologies designed to improve healthcare outcomes worldwide.

Rajesh Ghosh, PhD
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Bio
Rajesh Ghosh, PhD, earned his doctorate from UCLA, where he developed a rapid, single-tier assay for Lyme disease detection using synthetic peptide-based antibody profiling and machine learning analysis of patient immune signatures. His research focuses on point-of-care testing for Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections, with an emphasis on creating faster, more accessible alternatives to conventional laboratory-based diagnostics.
Dr. Ghosh has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications across bioengineering, diagnostics, and biomedical research. He continues to advance multiplexed diagnostic platforms capable of detecting Lyme disease, babesiosis, and other tick-borne infections. At Evora Diagnostics, he leads the company’s scientific strategy and development of next-generation infectious disease diagnostic technologies.
Artem Goncharov, PhD
Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Bio
Artem Goncharov, PhD, earned his doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UCLA in 2025. His research focuses on point-of-care testing, computational sensing, wearable devices, and laboratory automation, with extensive experience developing miniaturized microscopy systems and artificial intelligence-based data analysis algorithms.
Dr. Goncharov has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and is an inventor on seven U.S. patent applications. His work has addressed diagnostic challenges across cardiovascular disease, Lyme disease, and diabetes. At Evora Diagnostics, he leads the development of hardware and software technologies that support rapid, AI-powered diagnostic testing for Lyme disease and other conditions.
Olivia Goodreau
Co-Founder and Chief Growth & Partnerships Officer
Bio
Olivia Goodreau is Co-Founder and Chief Growth & Partnerships Officer of Evora Diagnostics, where she leads strategic partnerships, business development, and patient engagement.
Olivia is pursuing a degree in Public Health with a minor in Entrepreneurship at UCLA, where she conducts research in the Ozcan and Di Carlo laboratories at the California NanoSystems Institute. Her work focuses on developing artificial intelligence-enabled point-of-care diagnostics for Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases. She has received multiple awards at the 2025 and 2026 UCLA HHMI Undergraduate Research Symposium, including Best Overall Presentation, Best Poster, and Best Demo for groundbreaking research in rapid diagnostic technologies.
Before entering biotechnology, Olivia spent more than a decade building one of the nation’s leading patient advocacy organizations. At age 11, she founded LivLyme Foundation, an internationally recognized nonprofit that has raised more than $5 million to advance research, education, and children suffering from tick borne diseases across all 50 states. She has also hosted five Global Lyme Summits, bringing together leading researchers, clinicians, and patient advocates from more than 46 countries to advance collaboration and education on tick-borne diseases. Olivia is also the creator of the apps TickTracker, LongHaulTracker, and Tickmojis, designed to improve symptom tracking, patient engagement, and clinical research. TickTracker was recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through The Opportunity Project, and LongHaulTracker is now incorporated into active NIH-funded research.
Olivia has spoken at Harvard University, Stanford University, the White House, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, she has given testimony in front of HHS,and numerous national scientific and public health conferences. She served as a patient advocate at the 2025 HHS Lyme Disease Roundtable and has been recognized by Forbes as a “Teen Titan – Changing the World.” She is the author of the award-winning memoir, But She Looks Fine: From Illness to Activism, was featured in the book Being a Better Human Teenager, and has been highlighted in more than 100 national and international publications, television segments, podcasts, and news stories.
Inspired by her own experience as a Lyme disease patient, Olivia is committed to advancing innovative diagnostic technologies that improve patient care.
At Evora Diagnostics, she combines scientific research, public health expertise, and more than a decade of patient advocacy to help accelerate innovation, expand strategic partnerships, and ensure patient needs remain at the center of the company’s mission.

Holiday Goodreau
Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer
Bio
Holiday Goodreau is a nationally recognized patient advocate, healthcare innovator, entrepreneur, and nonprofit leader dedicated to advancing diagnostic innovation and improving outcomes for patients with complex and often overlooked diseases. She serves as Executive Director of the LivLyme Foundation and is the founder of several patient-centered technologies, including the free global tick surveillance app TickTracker, the symptom-monitoring platform LongHaul Tracker, and Tickmojis.
For more than a decade, Holiday has worked at the intersection of patient advocacy, public health, research, and innovation. She has co-hosted six international LivLyme Scientific Summits, bringing together leading physicians, researchers, government officials, and patient advocates to advance scientific understanding and improve care for individuals affected by tick-borne diseases.
Holiday served as Co-Chair of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Federal Tick-Borne Disease Working Group from 2021–2022, following her service on the group’s Access to Care and Patient Support Subcommittee from 2017–2018. She has also served as a peer reviewer for the U.S. Department of Defense’s Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) for Tick-Borne Disease Research and continues to advise organizations across the healthcare and life sciences sectors.
Holiday currently serves in several leadership and advisory capacities across the healthcare, biotechnology, and public health sectors, including as a Scientific Advisory Board Member for Aces Diagnostics, a Lyme Disease Consultant for Syneos Health, a Lyme Disease Vaccine Technical Consultant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a Scientific Advisor to Tarsus Pharmaceuticals, a Board Member of the MSIDS Scientific Research Board, and an Evaluator for the 2026 LymeX Visible Voices Challenge.
Holiday is also a co-author of the peer-reviewed publication, “Perinatal Transmission of Borrelia burgdorferi: Advancing Scientific and Clinical Understanding of Lyme Disease in Pregnancy,” published in Frontiers in Medicine. Her work and advocacy have been featured in multiple publications, including the award-winning book But She Looks Fine – From
Illness to Activism and the book Inspiring Better Humans: Stories and lessons from those changing the World.
Recognized as a Fellow of The Gratitude Network, Holiday has collaborated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Defense, academic institutions, biotechnology companies, and patient organizations to advance research, education, diagnostics, and public health initiatives.
As a co-founder of Evora Diagnostics, Holiday brings a unique perspective that combines patient advocacy, public health leadership, and entrepreneurial vision. Inspired by her daughter Olivia’s long journey to diagnosis and treatment, she remains committed to accelerating the development of affordable, accessible, and accurate diagnostic solutions that empower patients and improve healthcare outcomes worldwide.
Aydogan Ozcan, PhD

Bio
Dr. Ozcan is elected a Member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and the European Academy of Sciences and Arts as well as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) and holds >90 issued/granted patents and more than 20 pending patent applications. Dr. Ozcan has given more than 100 plenary/keynote talks and 500+ invited talks and is also the author of one book and the co-author of more than 1350 peer-reviewed publications in major scientific journals and conferences. In addition, Dr. Ozcan is the founder and a member of the Board of Directors of Lucendi Inc. and Holomic/Cellmic LLC, which was named a Technology Pioneer by The World Economic Forum in 2015. Mobile diagnostics product lines and related assets of Cellmic were acquired by NOW Diagnostics Inc. in 2018. Dr. Ozcan is also the Founder of Pictor Labs. Ozcan led the fundraising and formation of Pictor Labs – a spin-off from his UCLA lab – which reported the first demonstration of AI-based digital tissue staining and telepathology, where biopsy samples were imaged, virtually stained, and diagnosed, each step performed at different cities in the US.
Prof. Ozcan received several major awards including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), which is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers. Dr. Ozcan received this prestigious award for developing innovative optical technologies and signal processing approaches that have the potential to make a significant impact in biological science and medicine; addressing public health needs in less developed countries; and service to the optical science community including mentoring and support for underserved minority undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Ozcan also received the UCLA Postdoctoral Scholars Mentoring Award for his commitment to training and mentoring of postdoctoral researchers. In addition, Dr. Ozcan received the inaugural Rahmi M. Koc Science Medal, the International Commission for Optics (ICO) Prize, Dennis Gabor Award (SPIE), the inaugural SPIE BioPhotonics Technology Innovator Award, Joseph Fraunhofer Award & Robert M. Burley Prize (Optica), the inaugural Keith Terasaki Innovation Award, the Army Research Office (ARO) Young Investigator Award, SPIE Early Career Achievement Award, NSF CAREER Award, NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Young Investigator Award, the IEEE Photonics Society Young Investigator Award and the MIT’s Technology Review TR35 Award for his seminal contributions to near-field and on-chip imaging, and telemedicine-based diagnostics.
Prof. Ozcan is also the recipient of the 2016 IEEE Photonics Society Distinguished Lecturer Award, 2013 and 2015 Microscopy Today Innovation Awards, 2012 Popular Science Brilliant 10 Award, 2012 National Academy of Engineering (NAE) The Grainger Foundation Frontiers of Engineering Award, 2011 Innovators Challenge Award presented by the Rockefeller Foundation and mHealth Alliance, the 2010 National Geographic Emerging Explorer Award, the 2010 Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Grand Challenges Award, the 2010 Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Award, the 2010 Netexplorateur Award given by the Netexplorateur Observatory & Forum in France, the 2010 PopTech Science and Public Leaders Fellowship, the 2009 and 2016 Wireless Innovation Award organized by the Vodafone Americas Foundation as well as the 2008 Okawa Foundation Award, given by the Okawa Foundation in Japan.
Prof. Ozcan was selected as one of the top 10 innovators by the U.S. Department of State, USAID, NASA, and NIKE as part of the LAUNCH: Health Forum organized in 2010. He also received the 2012 World Technology Award on Health and Medicine, which is presented by the World Technology Network in association with TIME, CNN, AAAS, Science, Technology Review, Fortune, Kurzweil and Accelerosity.
Dr. Ozcan is elected Fellow of AAAS, SPIE, OSA/Optica, IEEE, AIMBE, RSC, APS and the Guggenheim Foundation, and is a Lifetime Fellow Member of NAI, AAAS, SPIE, APS and OSA/Optica. Dr. Ozcan is also listed as a Highly Cited Researcher by Web of Science, Clarivate.
Dino Di Carlo, PhD

Bio
Dino Di Carlo, PhD, is the Armond and Elena Hairapetian Professor of Bioengineering and Chair of the UCLA Department of Bioengineering. He is widely recognized for his work developing and translating diagnostic and microfluidic technologies from academic research into commercial products.
Dr. Di Carlo is a co-founder of Cytovale, whose IntelliSep™ sepsis test has received FDA clearance and is being deployed in hospitals throughout the United States. He currently serves on the boards of Cytovale, Partillion Bioscience, and other early-stage ventures, providing guidance on technology development, clinical translation, and commercialization strategy. At Evora Diagnostics, he contributes expertise in microfluidics, diagnostic assay development, point-of-care systems, translational research, and biotechnology commercialization.
